Methylation, Ltd., offers a number of different kits that focus on DNMT and DNMT/DNA interactions. Here is a summary:
ICM kits: These are DNMT isoform specific kits that measure endogenous binding of DNMT (1,1b, 2,3a,3b) to genomic DNA. This is equivalent to a methylase based footprinting experiment and is described in detail by Liu et al., (2003). A summary of the ICM kit is available on-line as well: ICM Summary page.
SDS-K+ Assay Kit: This kit contains reagents and a suitable DNA substrate for assaying covalent binding by DNMT enzymes. The kit contains aza-deoxycytidine substituted DNA which provides a suicide substrate for DNMT binding. Only DNA that is covalently attached to DNMT is recovered and quantified.
